Tuesday Tantrums

Mind if I throw a tantrum?

Today was the day to buy Spring Semester textbooks... I was excited because I'm a nerd... until I woke up to a 2 hour delay which meant that EVERYONE and their mother would be at AB Tech at 10 instead of spread out from 8am-whenever. I got there early and managed to only be behind about 50 people... but once I got up to the line they couldn't find my financial aid voucher! What the heck! So they send me to the financial aid department to figure out what's going on and as I'm sitting in the waiting room more and more people start streaming in... and guess what. All of their last names start with M. Hmmmm... .something about this is a little fishy. The school managed to LOSE the M vouchers. Yea. So after 3 hours of crap (only 10 of that consisted of me actually grabbing my books off shelves) I finally got them.... all $550 of them. YUCK. What a pain.

Oh but that's not all. I get home and discover that somehow my payment for the doctor's office was rejected... which is completely ridiculous because the money is in the bank... MORE than enough to pay that bill. So instead of it just going through it comes back and bites us in the butt with a "return check" charge. WTH? This isn't the first time that's happened... and both times there was more than enough money in the bank for it to go through. Ugh.

OH no. I'm not done yet. I know I know... I can just hear you goin "UGH". I get to church tonight and was pulled aside and told that I needed to "stick to the lessons and not spend extra money, just stick to the lessons and get it done. these kids need some God in their lives." If you don't know the backstory... then well you might not understand... this is probably the billionth time this has happened. I'm doing a lesson that frankly is NOT appropriate for the range of ages I take care of. I have to change it to make it fit. I also have to change the activities and everything so that all the kids can participate. Well apparently I can't do that. Basically I can't do anything. The funny thing is that I got fussed at for spending too much money on the craft projects and snacks... but I haven't bought ANYTHING in over a month. I'm done. Seriously. Done. I'm giving my notice for the last Tuesday in February. I'm planning on finding a small gift for all the kids... I want them to know that they didn't do anything wrong or that I don't love them. I will MISS them. I need a change though.

On a happier note.... two little Flint Monsters got to come home tonight!

I can't wait to meet them!

Almost Christmas

Basically I screwed up. Justin and I are trying a new way of keeping track of our checking balance because no matter how well I keep up with our spending/bills etc.... I'm always off. ALWAYS. So I started putting everything in a spreadsheet so that it would automatically deduct the spent or deposited amount.... so its always accurate. All I have to do is enter in the information. Well, generally I do. Except when I went to the doctor. I wrote a check, and I don't have the checks with the copies attached to them... and lucky for me the printer wasn't working at the office, so I didn't get a receipt either. So ofcourse, me being me.... I didn't record it in the spreadsheet. BAM. We're short after payinig bills. Fantastic. THEN. I get a notice from a national bank that we used in TN and still have open for savings, but we have NOT used it in MONTHS.... saying that we overdrew our account..... so I investigate afraid that my debit card has been stolen. No. I used the WRONG card one day. So not only are we short in our regular checking account, we are now overdrawn in our OLD account and have to pay a ginormous fee because they sent the notice to the wrong address (even though we have called to change the mailing address I can't even tell you how many times) and it was forwarded to the right address.... giving a delay of about 4 days. UGH.

So stressed is probably a good way to describe me right now. Everything will be worked out today, but geez. That's money down the drain we could have used for gas and groceries because I messed up. Bah.

I hate dealing with money... if only my honey was money savvy....

Little Monsters

Let me be short and sweet and to the point. Life is good at the moment. We are ok (not great but ok) financially and things are finally starting to look up. We have a plan for next semester as to how to pay off some of our debt (ie car, stupid credit card to help us move, and prepay a years worth of rent to lessen the monthly bills), and I have workstudy going (which is awesome) and I get to help my favorite family with their kids. I like to call these kids "The Flint Monsters"... they're not actually monsters, they are AMAZING kids (yes Janelle, they are AMAZING) but it's fun picking on them. Joseph is my "JoJo" except he does NOT like being called that, he always tells me, "No Sarah, my name is Joseph Flint." LOL! Jesse is my Cuddle Buddy or Booger Butt (don't ask) and Miss Priss Joyann is my Pouty (or sometimes Sassy) Princess. I love these kids, they never fail to brighten my day and I look forward to helping Janelle keep them occupied and help around the house when she welcomes TWO more babies into the world! Jonathan and James will be here soon and I can't wait to meet them! Janelle, I am so excited for you and you are an amazing mother... thank you for being my friend and always encouraging me... I was thinking about you guys today and thinking about how soon the babies will be here! YAY!

Anywho... this is my random blog for the day... just thought I'd jot down the many things going through my head!

Holy Cow!

Ok. This is possibly one of the most unbelievable things that has ever happened to me... and I know it's all because of my Savior! Justin and I were freaking out... we were going to have enough money to pay our bills.... but NOT enough to buy groceries or put gas in our cars. Literally... I had one thing of ground beef, condiments, and some soup in my kitchen. Well yesterday I noticed that online, our bank showed that we had over 300 dollars in our account... which was strange because everything I had recorded had gone through. So I told Justin that I would find a spreadsheet and rerecord everything and check my math. Back in September I got a refund from AB Tech, it was a nice chunk of money that helped fix up our house. Well apparently when I recorded one of our purchases I subtracted a little too much. We have had over 300 dollars in our account this entire time. We bought groceries, put gas in our cars, and Mudgett is getting his final puppy shots tomorrow :) I learned a valuable lesson. I know now that no matter what happens God IS and forever more will be by my side. I know that he caused that little hiccup in my checkbook and I KNOW he did that to teach me this lesson. GOD IS GOOD. ALL THE TIME!
