Insomnia

I am so incredibly uncomfortable, and unfortunately that means I cannot get to sleep. I am so blessed and thankful to be carrying a healthy, growing little girl... but I'm at a point where I just want her OUT! I would prefer to have her here waking me up every few hours to change her diapers, feed her, and comfort her... atleast with her here, being awake would have a purpose! Tonight my lower back is just killing me, my hips are aching, and frankly.... my boobs HURT. No matter how I lay, no matter how many pillows I gather around me, no matter WHAT I do... I can NOT sleep.

Ofourse, Justin is laying beside me snoring up a storm... and even Snickers and Mudgett are in the crate at the foot of my bed SNORING. Yes... dogs snore. Rather loudly actually!

I'm just tired of being pregnant... and I'm tired of hearing "She'll come when she's ready!", "She needs to keep growing!", "Women would kill to be in your shoes... appreciate this time!", "It could be worse!".... I KNOW all of those things... doesn't make me feel ANY better. Sorry! I want her OUT!

I'm also really afraid that my morning sickness might be coming back... if you didn't know already, I had morning sickness until 32 weeks. So basically, I have had 5 weeks of being pregnant WITHOUT puking.... then I wake up this morning feeling like I'm going to be sick. I cried because of it... I'm so OVER morning sickness. Did I mention that I was blessed with pimple free skin this entire pregnancy as well? That was GREAT! But wait.... in the past week I have had pimples break out all over my face... horrible painful pimples that make me feel like I'm in high school again. Ugh. Thank you hormones.

I'm pretty good at whining and complaining... but what can I say? Everyone needs to just let it out sometimes! I'm going to go sit on my yoga ball and try to rock or bounce away this back pain... and then hopefully I'll be able to lay down and get some MUCH needed sleep. I might even sleep all day tomorrow... who knows. Too cold to be outside anyways... AND it's supposed to snow. Oh joy!

Icky

I've had this runny snotty nose for about a week now... and I woke up this morning feeling like death. Ok. I'm being dramatic, I don't feel like death, but I do feel pretty awful! My throat is sore, my head is pounding and I can't breathe. On top of that, my entire body hurts from doing so much cleaning... which I don't regret but boy did it take a toll on my body! The only meds I've taken during this pregnancy was phenagren in the beginning and then zofran... and the ONLY reason I took them was to help me get through the day without puking everywhre. (I know, ew.) Other than that, nadda. I would love to down some nyquil right now and just put myself into a nap coma and wake up feeling brand new... but that's not going to happen!

Despite feeling icky, I'm happy to say that Justin actually enjoyed his birthday surprise yesterday! I guess typically a stay at home mom/wife would be doing that kind of cleaning all the time... but you might be surprised to know that Justin enjoys doing the cleaning and such on his own! I was incredibly blessed to find a man who loves to cook and clean! Doesn't mean I never clean or cook... but it does mean that I get out of it a LOT! LOL! He's an amazing cook, and he can make amazing boneless buffalo wings.... my favorite!

Also... every year the weekend near J's birthday is a special weekend in our hometown! We have an event called Holly Jolly downtown where all the little shops stay open late and serve free refreshments (like cookies, hot chocolate and cider)... there are luminaries lined up on the streets and around the lake... it's a lot of fun! Then on Saturday morning we have our Christmas parade. In high school I marched 3 years with the marching band in this parade. Practically the whole town shows up! Hopefully I'll start feeling better in time to really enjoy Holly jolly tonight.

My Achy Breaky Body

Ask my momma... and she'll tell you how obsessed I was with Billy Ray Cyrus's song, Achy Breaky Heart. I would dance and sing until I couldn't dance and sing anymore... definately different from my taste in music now! The reason I titled it that was because when I finally got a bit of sleep last night I dreamt or I guess I "remembered" a day when mom had it blasting from her speakers in the house and she was video taping me dancing! Never had a dream where I just remembered something from my past! It also got me thinking about how achy and breaky my body is feeling lately!

To begin with, I usually get in the bed (if I'm not there already) around 8 or 9pm. Some days I don't get out of bed, and I realize that that is completely insane, but there are some days that I just can't. Haven't been many of those days lately, but when I had days where I couldn't stand up without feeling nauseus and pukey... I chose to stay in bed! (I did manage to get a lot of homework done on those days though!) Once I'm comfortable, Justin and I will watch some of our favorite tv shows, watch some movies on Netflix, or we'll cuddle up and read a good book. Before I got pregnant, I would be ready to go to sleep by atleast 11ish. Not so much anymore... but not because I'm not tired. If I've been up and about all day, by the time 11 comes around and I'm in the bed, my body is so sore that I can't get comfortable. So I toss and turn, toss and turn. And sometimes, rarely, but sometimes I'll manage to toss so much that I find a sleeping position that comforts my body... even for just a little while. Unless you have a night like last night.

I was tired and exhausted, despite having done absolutely nothing yesterday, and all day my body just hurt. The more I relaxed, the more I hurt. So I turned on Netflix and started watching some tv shows they have on instant stream and prayed that I might fall asleep while watching it. Not the case. I would start drifting off to sleep, but then BAM! My leg and hip would start aching and getting numb... so I'd have to get up, walk around, and then come back to bed. I'd find another position to lay down... start drifting off to sleep and WHAM! My back would start aching like crazy. Seriously? It's getting old. Once I finally get to sleep and my body stops freaking out on me and just relaxes... I still have to get up to pee every 2-3 hours. And then I end up sleeping super late in the day! I hate that! I'm so ready for Elah to be here, and to have a better reason to get up every few hours in the middle of the night, instead of it being because my body hurts or because I have to pee for the millionth time!

Now, with all that said, I realize that I am blessed... I have had an almost 100% complication free pregnancy. Elah is healthy, she is growing, and she will be here really soon! Yes, I've been sick almost the entire pregnancy, and my body feels like it is falling apart... but I realize how lucky I am. I'm not complaining, well I guess I am, but not because I don't know how blessed I am. Things could be a lot LOT worse... but sometimes you just have to vent! Everytime my body aches today I'll be praying for a friend of mine who is in the hospital on complete bed rest with marginal placental abruption. Because like I said... it could be a lot worse.

Project 365: Day 9

Guess what? I'm 28 weeks today! That means I've officially entered my third trimester (atleast according to my pregnancy book) and only have 12 weeks or less (but hopefully not more) until we meet Elah! Yay!!!!

Haven't really done much today... first thing I did this morning was get sick... ugh. Thought it was starting to go away but apparently not! So now my face is a red blotchy mess! Went to mom's for a little while and my letter's for Elah's room are almost finished! Mom is going to spray a clear glossing spray on them to finish them up and then I'll bring them home, hang them, and snap a picture for you! J and I are spending his last day of "vacation" watching some Halloween movies. We've already watched Twitches, Twitches 2, and Beetlejuice... now we're getting ready to watch the Halloweentown movie series! All of those but Beetlejuice are Disney movies, ha!

26 Weeks! :)

I'm 26 weeks today and although I feel yucky pretty much everyday... I only have 14 more weeks until Miss Elah is here! I can't wait to meet her and finally find out what she looks like! Here's my belly picture....

I'm helping Janelle fill out shower invitations tonight... it's in 4 weeks! I just can't believe how fast everything is going! It's incredible!

9.20.2010

Woohoo!

I woke up this morning... sipped a little gingerale, grabbed a handful of cheerios from my bedside table.... and got up. Went to the bathroom, blew my nose, BRUSHED MY TEETH, and came back to bed and I'm watching a movie. Why is this exciting? I DIDN'T THROW UP! I DIDN'T GAG! I woke up with a little nausea, but it was tolerable. I don't have to constantly snack on something or sip my soda to keep my stomach from freaking out. Please please don't be a fluke! This is an amazing feeling!

7.26.2010

Blech!

I am SO tired of throwing up!!!!! EEEEEWWWW!!! I get a few days off from my morning sickness and then BAM! It's back in full swing again! I'll be 18 weeks on Saturday, in my SECOND trimester, and I'm still getting sick. Yuck... yuck... yuck. Mr. Cooper or Miss Isla better be having a good time in my tummy, because mommy is not having fun right now :(

5.26.2010

Yuck.

I love being pregnant. I hate throwing up. Ew. But what do I hate more than throwing up? Gagging and nausea. Atleast when you puke it's done and over with.... but no. I have constant, all day nausea. I'm hungry and nauseus. Full and nauseus. Tired and nauseus. Hyper and nauseus. I am everything under the sun... and nauseus. Seriously. C'mon 2nd trimester. The 1st trimester is welcome to pack his bags and leave!!!!

Sigh. Atleast I'm almost 9 weeks... which means only 3ish more weeks until 2nd trimester. Praise GOD.
